I recently completed the Little League Diamond Leader Umpire Training Course, an experience that strengthened my understanding of the game, and my commitment to leadership on and off the field. The program emphasizes technical rules of baseball, and also the importance of integrity, respect, and positive mentorship—qualities essential to effective umpiring.
As an umpire, I take pride in creating a fair, safe, and enjoyable environment for players to compete and grow. I focus on clear communication, consistency in decision-making, and maintaining composure under pressure. I also see my role as supporting young athletes in learning sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience.
Umpiring has taught me to think quickly, stay confident in my judgment, and handle challenging situations with professionalism. I strive to represent the game with fairness and respect while continuing to improve my skills through experiences and learning.
